Treasures from the SS Republic will take you on an amazing journey 1700 feet below the surface of the Atlantic to the wreck site of the SS Republic, the greatest shipwreck treasure of the Civil War era. En route from New York to New Orleans in October 1865, the ship sank with a fortune in coins and an enormous cargo of goods. Open Thursday -Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and 2nd & 4th Sunday Noon to 5 p.m.

Since a group of eight young men and two young women made their national television debut on The Andy Williams Show in the fall 1962, The New Christy Minstrels, under the direction of Randy Sparks, has won a Grammy for their debut recording, earning many gold records, and entertained at The White House.

County music legend, Mel Tillis, started performing in the early 50s with a group called The Westerners while serving as a baker in the United States Air Force, stationed in Okinawa. In 1956, Webb Pierce recorded a song written by Mel entitled "I'm Tired", and it launched Mel's musical career. Mel has written well over 1,000 songs and recorded more than 60 albums. He has had 36 Top Ten singles, with nine of them going to Number One. Tillis has been in the music/entertainment business now for 50 plus years.
